Collins, tell us about yourself…
“I graduated from Aston University with an MSc degree in Software Engineering in 2016. I began programming from a young age and was infatuated with computers whilst living in Nigeria. I moved to the UK for my studies because I saw that the opportunities in software development were greater here. In the final year of my undergraduate degree (in software engineering), my thesis introduced the notion of Sesano, a conversational artificially intelligent personal assistant. After refining and developing the software, I applied to the BSEEN programme to make my dream of a software development company a reality.”
Tell us more about Cosesano…
“Cosesano is a start-up software development company based in Birmingham, that provides innovative high-end mobile and web application design, development, update and maintenance services to small businesses, individuals or start-ups who are looking to create an online presence for their business or want to develop a bespoke enterprise application to maximise their business efforts and processes.
At Cosesano, we don’t only want to develop our client’s product, we aim to get it to their target customers and ensure they use it. Since we started trading in June 2017, we have had the pleasure to work with established businesses and start-ups.”
What made you jump at the chance of coming on BSEEN?
“What drew me to BSEEN was the opportunity to use the network and working space provided by the programme. The most exciting part was that since some of my target clients are entrepreneurs, the BSEEN programme provided an opportunity for me to start networking and marketing my app to those clients whilst setting up my business.”
What do you think you have learnt the most from your BSEEN journey?
“I learned how to think and to act like a business man, rather than a just a developer. I have been able to boost my business communication and marketing skills, thanks to the five days intensive boot camp training provided by BSEEN.“
What has been your business stand out moment since being on BSEEN?
“Exhibiting at the BSEEN and NACUE events gave me the opportunity to introduce my business to the public, to network and also gain some new customers.”
Any advice for entrepreneurial students or graduates thinking about starting their own business?
“If you are thinking about starting a business that relies on a mobile or web app, start with setting up a strategic business model to drive the business to its objectives before developing the app further.”
What are your next steps for your business?
“I am working on establishing partnerships with some entrepreneurial programmes, mentors and startup incubators.”
