Tell us more about Creeda…
“I am a keen amateur cricketer and I came up with the idea for the App when I was on the University cricket team. I sensed a market opportunity and founded Creeda. Creeda’s vision is to enable people to pursue their passion for playing sports.
We do this by building and energizing a close-knit sports community where players can engage with fellow players, teams, coaches and venues to promote greater participation in sports – benefiting individuals and venues. Creeda is an App that enables sports players to find players, sports venues, facilities, coaches and workshops, book sessions and make payment.”
What made you jump at the chance of coming on BSEEN?
“Whilst at university, the BSEEN programme and specifically the boot camp was recommended by one of my lecturers at Birmingham City University. He had nothing but praise for the programme and advised me to participate in it. When I took part in the boot camp, I was not disappointed. It was early stages for Creeda and the exercises at the boot camp forced us to brainstorm our business ideas, work together in a group and get feedback from other participants. It was a great learning experience and a jumping off point to start a company.”
What do you think you have learned the most from your BSEEN journey?
“BSEEN reinforced my beliefs that a clear vision and a good team is the key to succeed for any start up. I started to appreciate that collaborating with other businesses with complementary skills, results in more opportunities and greater overall success for all the parties involved.”
What has been your business stand out moment since being on BSEEN?
“We have signed up our first sports venue customer – a local indoor cricket venue. I have applied everything I learned from BSEEN to successfully make this first sale. We plan to continue using BSEEN to spread the word about Creeda and collaborate with other partners to leverage each other’s skills.”
Any advice for entrepreneurial students or graduates thinking about starting their own business?
“Just do it. It is a long and hard journey but a rewarding one indeed. The skills you acquire are priceless. Even if you don’t succeed in your first business venture, you would have learnt from your previous mistakes and this will increase your chance of succeeding in your next business endeavour.”
What are your next steps for your business?
“Having successfully piloted Creeda with local venues, our next goal is to roll out Creeda to more sports venues in Birmingham and other cities in the UK.”
