What Happens Next?
Once you have submitted your application form it will be reviewed by the BSEEN project team, and if you meet the requirements of the programme you will be invited to attend a panel interview. This is your opportunity to pitch your business idea, in a six-minute presentation, to a small, friendly panel.
Those who are not selected at any stage of the process will be offered individual feedback from a member of the project team. If you are successful you will be offered a place on the programme. Here’s what will happen next…
The programme kicks off with our intensive 5-day bootcamp, covering:
- Networking Skills
- Digital marketing
- Objective setting and action planning
- Business plans and value proposition
- Business basics and financials
- Lean start-up methodology
- Business registration workshop
The dates for the next bootcamp are 10th, 11th, 12th, 20th and 21st April; you must attend all five days. We also have two further bootcamps if you apply later in the year – these take place on 12th, 13th, 14th, 19th and 20th June or 11th, 12th, 13th, 18th and 19th of September.
After the initial bootcamp, BSEEN participants will benefit from:
- Free hotdesking
- A grant to kick-start your business
- Regular contact with your mentor
- Networking events
- Business skill development events
- Access to funding and competitions
- On-hand advice from the BSEEN team
- Inspiration from fellow entrepreneurs
- New friends in the same boat!
“I had the skills for making an ambulance work and making cakes and just needed to fill in the business part which is what BSEEN really provided. Everything I needed for starting a business I got through BSEEN. The business support provided me with the confidence to go forward and the money helped that process.”
– James, The Cake Doctor
“I was really looking for help to gain the basic business skills that I need to run my business, which BSEEN have been very helpful with. I think I was a bit quieter about promoting myself at the beginning of the programme, whereas now I’m getting myself out there which is really good, and getting more customers in which is always amazing.”
