Ian Fellows

Ian is a lecturer in Enterprise and Employability at Newman University and has responsibility for the delivery of three ESIF projects in addition to lecturing and providing consultancy services to local businesses.

Prior to joining Newman in 2018, Ian ran a social enterprise for seven years after having worked in three different countries for a global bank as a business analyst, project manager, and corporate trainer.  He has also worked in local government and the social care sector.

Ian holds several non-executive directorships and provides pro-bono consultancy services to three small charities.  His current research interests involve the use of design thinking in the development of pedagogical approaches that work for students from disadvantaged backgrounds.  He is also writing a book on the teaching of leadership skills.

Ian is a Chartered Manager, a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, and – most importantly – a Dad to two amazing kids.
