Entrepreneur of the Month: Erupt Learning

Amira, co-founder of Erupt Learning is originally from Holland and moved to Birmingham as a child. She studied Sociology at Aston University and is currently, working as a social media manager developing her digital marketing skills.

Tell us more about Erupt Learning Amira,

“Erupt Learning is a peer to peer platform for students to collaborate with one another in regards to revision and group work. We want to connect the tech-savvy   generation that uses multiple apps to complete group work such as WhatsApp and google docs, by providing all their solutions in one place. Our platform has a flashcard feature that allows students to not only create their own but the ability to also test one another through webcam capabilities. Additionally, there’s video conferencing and real- time editing that allows students to edit documents simultaneously. We make education fun by connecting students with their peers.”

What made you jump at the chance of coming on BSEEN?

“The chance to meet like minded people who are on the same journey as you.”

What has been the biggest learning curve you have had to  overcome as an  Entrepreneur?

“To surround yourself with driven people that will push you to work hard and provide you with a good support system.”

What has been your business stand out moment?

“Getting our banner in front of the BSEEN Incubator and seeing the name physically there amongst the other businesses was a very proud moment.”

Any advice for entrepreneurial students or graduates thinking about starting their own business?

“Get out there and network! you never know who might connect with you and provide you with future help.”

What are your next steps for your business?

“We are looking for investment at the moment and we are working on improving our prototype.”
